4/20/21 Ministry Update

Hi Friends,

Greetings! I’m so glad that COVID cases and hospitalizations have decreased significantly and that Los Angeles is slowly reopening. I’m traveling to the Bay Area next month – it’ll be my first visit since Christmas 2019! That’s the longest I’ve ever been away. I’m sooo excited to see family and friends. I’ve gotten both vaccine shots and am looking forward to giving lots of hugs.

Also, does anyone else have a mask tan??

My church’s benevolence ministry continues to support many families. To date, we’ve given $300,000 since March 2020, with 51% going to church families and 49% going to families outside of our church. Starting July, we are planning on gradually decreasing our support. Our assistance was always intended to be a temporary cushion as families navigated the economic impact of the COVID lockdowns. I invite you to pray for our church members who are under-employed and unemployed. Please pray that they would find additional work and stable jobs!

This pic shows how many benevolence checks we’ve written… a lot!

Another important church update is that our acting lead pastor has resigned. As a member of my church’s Leadership Team, I’m involved with finding an interim lead pastor. I invite your prayers for our church as we undergo a huge transition. Additionally, there are many large projects that the Leadership Team is juggling, and we would love your prayers as we lead the church — to hear God’s voice clearly and for lots of wisdom.

In my last update, I mentioned that there has been some collaboration in the Internships Department across internship sites. Last month, we had a historic (Zoom) gathering where all our interns in San Jose, Philly, and Saskatoon gathered for a training on inner healing prayer. It was meaningful to have everyone in the same “room”!

That’s all for now. I leave you with a pic of Boulder and Nando. Last month, I had three different pet sitting jobs… a total of 3 dogs and 3 cats! 🙂

Blessings to you.
