Happy Thanksgiving!!! I’m so, so grateful for your support and partnership – both spiritually and financially. 🙂
The interns are doing well for the most part. In the past month, both the men and the women found apartments and moved in. Praise God! It was very difficult for them to find housing at a reasonable price. Additionally, four out of seven interns have found part/full time work. Please pray that the remaining three interns find work… and if you know of any job openings in Los Angeles, let me know. 🙂
On Halloween, my church hosted our annual Harvest Carnival. At the event, a number of people from our neighborhood signed up to learn about my church’s activities for children and youth. I have been visiting these people with the interns, and our times have been very encouraging. For example, we visited one woman named Natalie. During our conversation, she said that she wanted to find a church for her family and wanted her children to know God. How awesome is that?! Additionally, we learned that she had been connected to our church ten years ago. She still remembered the names of the leaders in our church. I was reminded that our church’s longevity and history in the neighborhood matters. Urban ministry is a slow work. Yet, if we persist, by God’s grace we may have the opportunity to see the fruit of seeds planted ten years ago.
PRAY:
1. I am giving a sermon this Sunday at one of my supporter’s churches in San Jose!! The main point of my sermon is: “Jesus Wants Inner Healing for Us and the Poor.” 🙂 I am pretty nervous and will be working on it a lot over the next few days. Please pray that God speaks to the each person in the congregation!
2. I am trying to raise an extra $1,100/ month! Please pray for me as I connect with potential and existing donors over the next few months. I need to send out a Christmas card, and I am hoping to meet with a lot of people when I am in the Bay Area for Christmas.
